THE POWER OF A DIVINATION PRACTICE.
Divination tools are tools through which one is able to access information and gain insight and guidance into their lives with information that cannot be sourced through their 5 senses. It is the forming of a direct channel between you and your spirit world, where you can ask questions and receive guidance from your soul and the soul of the universe. The unveiling of divine communication from your highest realm that does not become diluted and disillusioned as it would if it swirled first through your ego and mind.
The practice of Divination has been used and recorded throughout thousands of centuries. In Chinese culture they read and deciphered patterns on tortoise shells, which evolved into the famous hexagons of the I Ching. Vikings threw Rune Stones. African culture threw Bones or Shells, Australian Aborigines looked to the dreamtime for answers, while so many others before us consulted the stars, planets & constellations, they studied the weather, the earth, even the entrails of sacrificed animals. The answers they sought from divination were to illuminate clarity in momentous moments of survival. “Do we travel today or tomorrow?” “Do we push for dominance or peace?” More so than the self- exploration we seek today from our practice. They relinquished their faith to the symbology, imagery and life force tied to these sacred tools to guide them, for they agreed - who greater of power than the power of the universe?
In our current day and age, when we develop questions, require clarity or reach a fork in the road, we tend to abandon our faith in the universe and our inutition and instead seek answers from our mind, or from minds of those around us - their beliefs, their motifs, their opinions. Our egos will always give us roundabout answers designed to keep us limited and in fear. This is not wrong, or right it is simply the ego doing its job and our job in this lifetime is to transcend the ego and move throughout our lives from a place of internal faith and power. When we return back to our ancient ancestors’ way of being through practising divination to attain our answers, we are returning to being guided by an all knowing, all seeing energy, a universal soul that we tap into.
No divination tool is more powerful than another. What animates a tool is the way in which you approach it, as the student, as the vessel who casts them. Your energy and intention is what brings psyche and source to your tool, as you are the one using it. If you approach it as a game, it will act as a game, if you approach it with respect, it will mirror that energy to you.
It is an ancient belief by some that the divination tool will choose you, I interpret this as, it is the tool in which you are drawn to, the one that captures your interest which will evoke the most power and understanding within you. Each type of divination has its own methodology, its own symbology, its own imagery and delivers its own unique messages.
