The “cold moon” Gemini Full moon at 13 degrees.
For my avid readers .. this one is for you… Something which I was surprised to learn that most people don’t know about full moons is, whatever sign our Sun is in - we will then have a full moon in its opposite sign. The full moon can then illuminate the shadow aspects of that sun sign (for us this month its sagittarius- giving us a Gemini full moon) so I always pay attention for those shadow traits bubbling around to the surface during the time of the full moon. Which is why I think it’s important especially if you have a love of astrology, to explain the energies at play of both Gemini and Sagittarius and how they are activating at this time of month.
So, buckle up because this Gemini full moon has me writing!!
This full moon finds itself stationed at 13 degrees of Gemini, with the sun sitting opposite the moon at 13 degrees of Sagittarius. This is the shared dynamic of Gemini and Sagittarius - they hold such a familiarity to each other yet are so different. Both signs yearn for freedom and adventure - yet seek it differently. They resist stillness and stagnation, they are hard to pin down.
With the sun in Sagittarius we feel possibility in the air, we feel adventurous, courageous, optimistic, spontaneous, a streak of positivity and a playfulness to life- like maybe its not that deep? You can’t deny, Sagittarius has a sheer magnetism to it!
Our moon in Gemini filters through the energy of the Gemini - the hunter and gathering of information- Gemini learns for the hell of it- no end goal, no business plan, no outcome in mind – just an appetite for knowledge and childlike curiousity.
(Show me a gemini who isn’t studying or leanring somethinggg and ill show you a Gemini who has misplaced their compass to fulfilment.)
Geminis learn through story telling (and trust me they can tell a long winded story- guilty Im sorry), humour and intellect, they are conversational and relatable.
They are marked with the crimson letter of multiple personalities but their many faces are actually their ability to adapt, to understand to see themselves in you, mirror you and accept many points of view at once.
Tell a Gemini your deepest, darkest secret and you likely won’t meet judgment. Instead, you’ll meet eyes and questions quietly prompting you, seeking to understand your motive and unravelling the story that lead you there.
Where Gemini seeks understanding, Sagittarius seeks wisdom. Where Gemini asks questions, Sagittarius seeks answers.
This is the axis of differentiation - Gemini collects the pieces, Sagittarius creates direction and a big pictue. Gemini doesn’t always tie things up in bow like Sagittarius does. Sag learns in a way of wanting to know- what is the purpose of this? Where is this experience leading me? What is the principle or philosophy that underlies it all? Why do you believe this? Sag is adventurous, optimistic and sometimes blunt because it sees life as a journey to uncover what really matters- it wants to get to the point. This is why Sagittarius can be drawn to religion and spirituality, because it’s the feeling that there is a level of certainty in the answers it provides.
Together they these two signs create a full spectrum of learning, understanding, and expansion. Gemini sharpens the mind, Sagitarius sharpens the vision.
I always say if a Sagittarius throws a party – they are looking for the good time of it, they have the air of “i’ll figure that out later”- they just have a vision in mind. A gemini will get invited to the party and fuss over the details – whose going? where is it? what time does it start end? what are people going to be wearing? They want details. Whereas Sagittarius is focused on the big picture of it all. it doesn’t mess around with details.
Like i said.. understanding Gemini and Sagittarius relationship is important – because This month with the Sun in Sagitarrius – the Gemini full moon can illuminate the shadow of the sign the sun is in – the shadow of Sagittarius looks a little like this. Sagittarius energy can go wide instead of deep. It jumps from idea to idea. It chase highs, trying to avoid the come down. It avoids anything that feels too heavy, too real, too confining. Sagitarius can become the “escape artist”, the “Peter pan” perhaps, still searching but never landing long enough to integrate. They can prefer to keep it surface because they want so much to stay open and free that they sometimes avoid depth, commitment or emotional intensity. Sagittarius shadow can also show up in our life as control, a quick to draw judgement, a lack of detail, a tendency to flee when the going gets tough.
When these energies of the airiness of Gemini and fire of Sagitiarius meet - You might find your mind changing about something, a story you have been telling yourself that is not actually the truth. It is simply that- a story.
Notice the stories you tell and the words you choose.
Notice where you dust the surface because it feels heavy to go deeper.
Ask yourself if the conversations you are having are meaningful or just stimulus filler.
Are you busy with purpose or are you busy to escape.
Look at the atmosphere inside your head, does it feel free or weighed down with thoughts feelings and distractions?
The end of November to mid December is Sagittarius heaven.
Socialising, play, adventure, the fun and festivities of the season. Everyone feels a little sparkier, a little more open, a little more generous, life looks a little more sparkly. …That is Jupiter energy. Use it. Play with it. Jupiter wants you to feel the fortune and abundance of being alive. Life can feel expansive right now, fruitful, warm.
Say yes to life. Soak it in, create more of it. Just make sure you don’t dwell on the surface., avoiding depth.
Toward the end of December we enter Capricorn season which begins to steady the Sagittarius fire and bring us back into focus. The goals return. The structure returns. We gather ourselves and tend to what matters. We slow down and we recenter.
